Privacy Policy for PomoForest

PomoForest was created as a simple focus and productivity tool. You can use the site without creating an account.

1. No account is required

PomoForest works without an account. Task lists, timer preferences and focus history are stored in your browser, rather than in a PomoForest account database.

2. Storage on your device

The app uses localStorage for tasks, durations, sessions, statistics, scene choices, language, sound settings and favorites. A separate entry records your analytics choice and its date for up to 180 days. This storage supports the app and remembers your choice even when analytics is refused.

These records are not automatically synchronized between browsers or devices. Clearing site data removes them. Private browsing or unavailable browser storage may prevent preferences from being retained.

Local preferences also include leaf visibility, reminder settings and whether notification permission has already been requested. These controls use the existing browser storage; hiding the leaves adds no new data collection or permissions.

3. Local music

Selected audio files and folders are played through local references created by the browser. PomoForest does not upload these files. Files and folders need to be selected again after reloading or reopening the app.

4. Reminders and permissions

Reminders play alert sounds and update the browser-tab title. When you start a timer, the app may ask once for permission to show browser notifications. You can disable reminders in Customize or manage notification permission in your browser. The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts or precise-location permission.

The timer and alerts run in the open page. Browser suspension, device sleep or system settings can delay sounds and notifications. Closing the page stops its timer and alerts; they are not sent by a server.

5. Optional Google Analytics

On the timer page, Google Analytics loads only after you choose Accept analytics. Before a choice, or if you refuse, the app does not load the Analytics tag. Refusal does not restrict timer features. Advertising consent and advertising personalization remain disabled.

If enabled, Google Analytics can process page visits, usage events, identifiers, cookies and general device and region information. The app code does not explicitly send task names, audio files or locally saved focus history as analytics events. Settings controlled in the Google Analytics account may also affect collection and retention.

Use Cookie preferences to change your choice. Refusing after acceptance disables the tag, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the timer page to stop the loaded tag. This does not erase information previously processed by Google. Your choice is requested again after 180 days or after clearing browser storage.

6. Hosting and external fonts

The public website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The hosting provider may process technical request data, such as IP addresses, requested files, browser details and access times, to deliver and protect the service. This does not apply to a copy opened directly from your device.

Some pages request fonts from Google Fonts. These connections are independent of Analytics consent and send technical request information to Google. External providers apply their own privacy policies.

7. Feedback and privacy requests

Feedback opens a Google Forms form. Information you voluntarily submit is processed by Google and is accessible to the project through the form. It is used to evaluate and respond to suggestions, errors, credit corrections and privacy requests.

Use the Feedback page to request information about submitted data, correction or deletion, where applicable. Include only the information needed to locate the submission; do not send passwords, identity documents or other sensitive information. Clearing browser data does not delete form submissions or analytics records.

8. Retention

Tasks and app preferences remain in the browser until you remove them or browser storage is cleared. The analytics choice expires after 180 days. Data processed by Cloudflare, Google Analytics and Google Forms follows their respective settings and policies. A specific retention period for feedback and the Analytics account is not stated here because those settings have not yet been confirmed.

9. Your choices

You can refuse optional Analytics, withdraw permission through Cookie preferences, clear locally saved site data, disable reminders, and stop using the app. To discuss data submitted through the form, use Feedback. Browser privacy controls may also restrict external connections and cookies.

10. Children and sensitive information

PomoForest is a general productivity tool. Do not include confidential or sensitive information in tasks or feedback. Children and teenagers should use external forms with guidance from a parent or guardian. Questions about a submission can be sent through Feedback.

11. External services

Cloudflare, Google Analytics, Google Fonts and Google Forms may process information on infrastructure outside your country. Their privacy information is available through the links below. The PomoForest consent control covers optional Analytics; it does not block fonts, hosting requests or a form you choose to open.

12. Updates

This policy describes the current implementation. Relevant changes will be reflected in this page and its revision date. Acceptance of site terms is separate from consent to optional Analytics.
